Welcome to the Lucky 4-Leaf website! In 1954,
my parents, William and Martha Griner, founded the Little
Orchard herd, and they have been breeding quality LaManchas
since 1969. I was born in 1980, and I have been hooked on goats
ever since! I spent many years working with my parents and
breeding my own goats under the Little Orchard herd name. In
2009, I completed my Ph.D. work and moved to beautiful
Scottsville, Virginia, to work at the University of Virginia. My
own small herd of LaManchas also moved to Virginia with me. In
2018, Little Orchard and my parents were honored to receive a
Historic Herd designation for their years of contribution to
advancing the LaMancha breed. With this, the decision was made
for me to start raising goats under my own herd name. The Lucky
4-Leaf herd name originates from one of my super powers, finding
4-leaf clovers. Since I was a child, I have been finding 4-leaf
clovers and placing them with the registration papers of my
goats “for luck.” While my herd name has changed, just about
everything else will stay the same. The herd will still be
closely tied to the Little Orchard herd, sharing animals and
expert breeding advice from Mr. Griner!
I hope you enjoy visiting this web site!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about
any of my animals or if you just want to talk about goats!
Please visit the original
Little Orchard website to see all of the Little Orchard
animals being bred by my parents!
Note: With the change of herdname comes a
change of domain name. Please bookmark
https://lucky4leaflamanchas.com as my site address. My
former address will continue to work until that domain name
expires.
